How we recycle your waste

Want to know what happens to your waste once we have collected it? 83% of items that reach our depot are recycled and converted into usable materials which are then transported to manufacturing sites across the UK. Here at Clearance Clarence we have our very own sorting depot which allows us to control the whole process from collection to re-distribution and results in only 5% of waste heading to landfill.

All of the wood we take is recycled. It is shredded and made into wood chips, once chipped and made into Pellets, this then goes for Bio Fuel.

Metal is sent for recycling where it is shredding and melted down to make other new products.

The Mattresses we collect are stripped, the Material is shredded to go for Fuel or other products and the metal is sent for recycling.

Plastics are shredded and made into pellets where they are then sent to manufacturers to make new products out of plastic.

Cardboard we collect is baled on site and sent to mills where it is then made into other cardboard products.

The paper we collect is shredded on site, baled and sent to a mill in Scotland where it is then made into blue paper towels and toilet paper and distributed back into the UK.

This is sent to a further sorting station where it is hand picked and then shredded to send to an Energy from waste (EFW) plant.
